CITY COUNCIL <br />REGULAR MEETING STAFF REPORT <br />AGENDA ITEM 3A <br />STAFF ORIGINATOR: Dave Pecchia, Interim City Administrator <br />MEETING DATE: May 27, 2025 <br />TOPIC: Second Reading and Adoption of Ordinance No. 06-25 Repealing <br />Chapter 208: Public Safety Department <br />VOTE REQUIRED: Simple Majority <br />INTRODUCTION <br />The City Council is being asked to provide Second Reading and Adopt Ordinance No. 06-25 <br />Repealing City Code Chapter 208: Public Safety Department, of the Lino Lakes City Code. <br />BACKGROUND <br />Staff have been in the process of implementing recommendations of the Citygate report which <br />included establishing a stand alone Police Department and Fire Department. Therefore, we are <br />requesting the repeal of Chapter 208 which created a Public Safety Department which no <br />longer aligns with the current organizational structures. <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />Staff recommends approval of Second Reading and Adoption of Ordinance No. 06-25 Repealing <br />City Code Chapter 208: Public Safety Department. <br />ATTACHMENTS <br />Ordinance No. 06-25 <br />1 <br />
