CITY COUNCIL <br /> STAFF REPORT <br /> AGENDA ITEM 3.C. <br /> STAFF ORIGINATOR: Meg Sawyer, Human Resources and Communications Manager <br /> MEETING DATE July 14, 2025 <br /> AGENDA ITEM: Consider Appointment of Office Specialist <br /> VOTE REQUIRED: Simple Majority <br /> INTRODUCTION <br /> The City Council is being asked to approve the appointment of Jennifer Alderink to the Office <br /> Specialist position at City Hall. <br /> BACKGROUND <br /> Staff has completed the recruitment process, provided a conditional offer, and is <br /> recommending the approval of Jennifer Alderink for the full-time position. <br /> Alderink brings over 15 years of experience in support and marketing roles within a professional <br /> office setting. She has a bachelor's degree in Graphic Design from the University of Minnesota - <br /> Duluth. <br /> The starting wage for Alderink will be $28.49 per hour, which is step 4 of a 7 step wage scale for <br /> the Office Specialist position. With the Council's approval, Alderink would start in the position <br /> on July 15, 2025. <br /> The hiring of Alderink will backfill the Office Specialist vacancy that was created on April 15, <br /> 2025 due to an internal promotion. The 2025 Adopted Budget includes one full-time Office <br /> Specialist. <br /> RECOMMENDATION <br /> Please approve the appointment of Jennifer Alderink to the Office Specialist position. <br /> ATTACHMENTS <br /> None <br /> Page 44 of 240 <br />
