1 <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />REGULAR MEETING STAFF REPORT <br />AGENDA ITEM 7A <br /> <br />STAFF ORIGINATOR: Diane Hankee, City Engineer <br /> <br />MEETING DATE: September 8, 2025 <br /> <br />TOPIC: Consider Resolution Number No. 25-124, Authorize the <br />Preparation of Plans and Specs, 2026 Street Rehabilitation Project <br /> <br />VOTE REQUIRED: Simple Majority <br />______________________________________________________________________________ <br /> <br />INTRODUCTION <br /> <br />Staff is requesting Council authorization to prepare plans and specifications for the 2026 Street <br />Rehabilitation Project. <br /> <br />BACKGROUND <br /> <br />The 2026 Street Rehabilitation improvements are part of the City’s Capital Improvement Plan <br />which is based off the City’s Pavement Management Program. The Pavement Management <br />Program evaluates the condition of the roadways and provides recommendations for maintenance <br />for the City’s entire network of roadways. The proposed 2026 Street Rehabilitation <br />Improvements Project includes the following: <br /> <br />Mill and Overlay (approximately 1.5 miles) <br />• Country Lakes Dr, Deerwood Ln and Fawn Ln (north of Birch St) <br />• Lonesome Pine Trl <br />• 4th Ave from Lilac St to Apollo Dr <br />• Terra Ct and Lea Ct and the cul du sac of Heather Ct and Meadow Ct. <br />Bid Alternate <br />• Ware Rd from Hodgson Rd to Birch St (.25 miles) <br /> <br />A bid alternate is part of the 2026 Street Rehabilitation project. If funding allows, the City <br />Council will consider awarding Ware Rd alternate in with the 2026 project. Throughout the <br />project area, gate valves will be replaced if they have not been previously repaired. <br /> <br />WSB LLC has submitted a proposal to complete the topographic survey, plans and <br />specifications, and provide bid documents for the 2026 Street Rehabilitation Project for a total <br />not to exceed the amount of $77,000.00. <br /> <br />Page 57 of 168
