<br />CITY OF LINO LAKES <br />RESOLUTION NO. 25-132 <br /> <br />PURCHASING FITNESS EQUIPMENT FOR <br />THE ROOKERY ACTIVITY CENTER <br /> <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, since the opening of the Rookery Activity Center in May of 2022, the fitness <br />equipment continues to be heavily utilized by Rookery members and guests. Treadmills <br />consistently rank as the most popular cardiovascular equipment in fitness facilities. The eight <br />treadmills were originally purchased in 2017; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, despite proactive maintenance efforts including belts and decks were <br />flipped in 2024 and quarterly inspections, the existing treadmills are experiencing frequent <br />mechanical failures. Multiple components including computers, rollers, and belts have been <br />replaced. Many replacement parts are no longer manufactured or available from suppliers; <br />and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, staff is recommending entering into a contract with Life Fitness via <br />Sourcewell for 8 - Integrity Treadmills (INT-SE424-XF-14) in the amount of $90,823.09. This <br />includes a tariff surcharge of $1,606.70 and freight/fuel/installation charges of $8,881.59; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Sourcewell is a public corporation serving as a municipal contracting agency <br />for government and education agencies. Sourcewell serves member agencies under the <br />legislative authority established and granted by Minnesota Statute 123A.21. This agreement <br />fulfills the competitive solicitation and contract process required of governmental agencies ; <br />and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, funding has been identified through the Rookery Capital Outlay Account <br />202-451-5000. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Lino Lakes: <br /> <br />The Public Services Director is hereby authorized and directed to enter into a contract <br />with Life Fitness for 8 - Integrity Treadmills in the amount of $90,823.09. <br /> <br />Adopted by the Council of the City of Lino Lakes this 22nd day of September, 2025. <br /> <br /> <br />_____________________ <br />Rob Rafferty, Mayor <br />ATTEST: <br />________________________ <br />Roberta Colotti, CMC <br />City Clerk <br />Page 40 of 228
