CITY COUNCIL <br />STAFF REPORT <br />AGENDA ITEM 1.I. <br /> <br />STAFF ORIGINATOR: Justin Williams, Public Services Superintentent <br /> <br />MEETING DATE September 22, 2025 <br /> <br />AGENDA ITEM: Approval of Resolution No. 25-128, Authorization to Declare Surplus <br />and Sell Unused Public Works Equipment <br /> <br />VOTE REQUIRED: Simple Majority <br /> <br /> <br />INTRODUCTION <br />City staff seeks authorization from the City Council to declare various unused Public Works <br />equipment as surplus and to sell these items through a public auction. <br /> <br />BACKGROUND <br />Public Works staff has reviewed the department’s equipment inventory and identified several <br />pieces of equipment and attachments that are no longer in use, are no longer compatible with <br />current operational needs, or have been replaced by newer equipment. Retaining this <br />equipment offers no operational benefit and creates unnecessary storage and maintenance <br />costs. <br /> <br />Declaring the following equipment as surplus will allow the City to dispose of these assets in a <br />cost-effective manner through a public auction, while returning value to the City: <br /> <br />1. Titan Pump Jack Scaffolding Equipment <br />2. Stock Tires from 2023 Cat 420XE Backhoe #275 <br />3. 84” Bobcat V-Plow Attachment <br />4. 90” Bobcat Finish Mower Attachment (2011) <br />5. Case 80” Snow Bucket Attachment <br />6. 72” Grapple Bucket Attachment <br />7. Sidney Mfg. Timberline Tree Shear Attachment <br />8. Lowe 1650 Auger Drive Unit Assembly <br />9.
