Capital Improvement Project
2026 through 2030
PROJECT # CW-367
PROJECT NAME: #620 2017 Ford/Custom Pumper Truck, Engine 4
Project Year: 2027

Department: Fire
Program: Citywide
Project Type: Vehicles
Useful Life (Years): 10
Contact Person: Fire Chief

Project Description:
The City is looking to find a used Fire Engine similar to #625 Engine 3. This replacement Engine would have a large
enough cab to allow for 4 firefighters to be able to ride in the cab of the vehicle while wearing turnout gear and have
SCBA brackets in the seats to reduce time donning this in a fire situation. This apparatus would have a larger water tank,
500 gallons or more.
Project Justification:
The current Engine 4 was purchased when the Public Safety Department was using cross-trained Fire Fighter/Police
Officers to respond to Fire Calls. These vehicles were purchased because most of the responding staff were arriving in
Police SUV's and not traveling from a fire station on the apparatus. The small cab makes it impossible to have more than
two firefighters ride in the cab to calls. The SCBA's are stored in a cabinet located in the apparatus body. A firefighter has
to wait until they arrive on scene to Donne the SCBAs. This increases the time when responding to a fire emergency.

Funding Sources FY2026 FY2027 FY2028 FY2029 FY2030 Total
Capital Equipment Replacement Fund
(402) $0 $500,000 $0 $0 $0 $500,000
Total $0 $500,000 $0 $0 $0 $500,000
Expenditures FY2026 FY2027 FY2028 FY2029 FY2030 Total
Capital Equipment $0 $500,000 $0 $0 $0 $500,000
Total $0 $500,000 $0 $0 $0 $500,000
124
