1

CITY COUNCIL
REGULAR MEETING STAFF REPORT
AGENDA ITEM 1F

STAFF ORIGINATOR: Michael Grochala, Community Development Director

MEETING DATE: November 24, 2025

TOPIC: Resolution No. 25-164 Adopting Special Assess for Public Nuisance
Abatement – 7253 Fall Drive

VOTE REQUIRED: Simple Majority
______________________________________________________________________________

INTRODUCTION

Staff is requesting City Council adoption of the special assessment for the abatement of the
public nuisance abatement in progress at 7253 Fall Drive.

BACKGROUND

In September, the property located at 7253 Fall Drive was found to be in violation of City Code
Section 1009.22 (7) regarding a pest infestation. The owner was receptive to an assessment
agreement authorizing the City to enter the property, abate the nuisance, and assess the cost
to the property. This allowed for a more expedient abatement process.

The City Council approved the assessment agreement abating the public nuisance at the
October 13, 2025 meeting.

Work is underway and the cost will be assessed to the property for taxes payable in 2026. The
amount to be assessed is $887.41 including attorney and certification fees.

RECOMMENDATION

Staff is recommending approval of Resolution No. 25-164.

ATTACHMENTS

1.
