WS — Item 1 <br />WORK SESSION STAFF REPORT <br />Work Session Item 1 <br />Date: January 3, 2012 <br />To: City Council <br />From: Michael Grochala <br />Re: Otter Lake Road Extension Feasibility Study <br />Background <br />Over the past three years city staff has been working with property owners along the <br />northeast quadrant of I -35E and Main Street to facilitate the northerly extension of Otter <br />Lake Road. In March of 2011 MFC Properties presented a development concept to the <br />City Council for property located northeast of the Otter Lake Road /Main Street <br />intersection. MFC Properties subsequently submitted a petition, dated April 2, 2011, <br />requesting the preparation of a feasibility study and installation of roadway, water main <br />and sanitary sewer improvements to service pending development. <br />On May 23, 2011 the City Council authorized preparation of a feasibility study for the <br />proposed improvements. TKDA, the City's consulting engineer, will be distributing the <br />completed study at the work session. <br />Requested Council Direction <br />Discussion only. The item will be included on the January 9, 2011 City Council meeting <br />agenda. Staff will be requesting council consideration to accept the report and call for a <br />hearing on improvements. <br />
