r <br />• <br />• <br />WS — Item 12 <br />WORK SESSION STAFF REPORT <br />Work Session Item 12 <br />Date: February 6, 2012 <br />To: City Council <br />From: Jeff Karlson <br />Re: Charter Task Force <br />Background <br />As you already know, the Charter Commission declined the Council's invitation to <br />participate on a task force to address the City's ability to facilitate street reconstruction <br />projects. The Council now needs to decide how it wishes to proceed without the Charter <br />Commission's cooperation. <br />Attached is a letter from Charter Chair Chris Lyden, which states that the Charter <br />Commission will only consider a proposed amendment through a formal process that <br />involves the whole Commission, as specified in Minnesota Statutes 410.12.
