Resolution No. 12 -31, Approving Joint <br />Powers Agreement with Anoka County, <br />Lake /Main Traffic Signals <br />Simple Majority <br />Anoka County has provided the City with a Joint Powers Agreement for the installation of traffic <br />signal improvements for the both the Lake /Main and Birch/Ware intersections. The agreement sets <br />forth the roles and responsibilities of both the County and City for construction of the <br />improvements. <br />BACKGROUND: <br />In 2010 city residents approved an election to allow for the improvement of the two intersections. <br />The City Council authorized preparation of plans and specification in January of 2010. Does not include bond issuance costs <br />As part of the project Anoka County will be funding pedestrian improvements to the Market Place <br />Drive intersection. Pedestrian safety issues at this intersection were raised at the project open house <br />in February. These improvements will include a crosswalk, pedestrian timers and sidewalk. The <br />County will also be funding an overlay from 77th Street to the southern Lake /Main intersection <br />project limits. <br />
