SECTION 6: ATTENDANCE AND LEAVES <br />6.1 Holidays <br />Regular full -time and part-time employees are entitled to the holidays described herein. Part- <br />time employees received a prorata amount based on the number of hours worked each week. <br />Temporary employees are not entitled to holiday pay. <br />New Years' Day <br />Martin Luther King, Jr. Day <br />President's Day <br />Memorial Day <br />Independence Day <br />Labor Day <br />Veteran's Day <br />Thanksgiving Day <br />Day after Thanksgiving <br />Christmas Eve Day <br />Christmas Day <br />New Year's Eve Day <br />When a holiday falls on a Sunday, the following Monday is considered the holiday. When a <br />holiday falls on a Saturday, the preceding Friday is considered a holiday. In order to be eligible <br />for paid holidays, employees must work on the day before and the day after such holiday, unless <br />on paid leave. <br />6.2 Vacation Leave <br />Vacation leave with pay is available to eligible employees to provide opportunities for rest, <br />relaxation, and personal pursuits. No employee shall be permitted to waive such leave for the <br />purpose of receiving double pay. Probationary and regular full -time employees earn paid <br />vacation time according to the following schedule.
