• <br />• <br />• <br />8.10 Professional Appearance <br />Quality service, a positive attitude, good customer relations, and a professional appearance help <br />create and maintain a favorable image of the City. Employees represent the City in their daily <br />contact with residents, consultants, and businesses. The City expects employees to use good <br />judgment in choosing their attire and in their grooming and personal hygiene. <br />With the exception of employees required to wear uniforms or outdoor clothing, employees will <br />adhere to "business casual" attire. <br />Depai lment directors, with authority from the City Administrator, may make the final <br />determination as to appropriate attire based on the work environment. <br />8.11 Computer Use Policy <br />A. Purpose and Scope <br />This policy serves to protect the security and integrity of the City's electronic communications <br />and information systems by educating employees about appropriate and safe use of technology <br />resources. This policy applies to all individuals granted access to the City's network and <br />information systems. This policy includes all City -owned computers, as well as those connected <br />to the City's network. <br />B. Securing Desktop and Notebook Computers <br />1. Users will ensure reasonable physical safeguards to maintain desktop and notebook <br />computer and peripheral equipment in such a way to avoid inadvertent disclosure of City <br />information. <br />2. When leaving a desktop or notebook computer unattended, users shall apply the "Lock <br />Workstation" feature where systems allow. <br />3. Unattended computers shall be secured from viewing by password protected screen <br />savers, which should be set to automatically activate after a period of non -use. The period <br />of non -use shall be for no more than 60 minutes. <br />4. Desktop computer users shall store confidential and sensitive information on a network <br />drive (shared directory on the City network) and not the user's hard drive. <br />5. Computers and monitors shall be turned off at the end of each workday unless you are <br />instructed otherwise. <br />6. Additional security requirements may be required for computers containing data governed <br />by other applicable state and federal laws, including law enforcement data and data <br />associated with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA). <br />C. Physical Security Measures <br />Physical security measures shall be used to secure notebooks, computer media, and other forms <br />of information storage media containing confidential or sensitive information. <br />48 <br />P84 <br />
