P14 <br />CITY OF LINO LAKES <br />COUNTY OF ANOKA <br />RESOLUTION NO. 12 -64 <br />APPROVING A SPECIAL EVENT, PARADE/RUN PERMITS AND TEMPORARY <br />EXCLUDED BINGO PERMIT FOR BLUE HERON DAYS, AUGUST 18 -19, 2012 <br />WHEREAS, the Lino Lakes summer celebration, Blue Heron Days, is planned for the weekend <br />of August 18 & 19, 2012; and <br />WHEREAS, the schedule for this year's festival includes a 5K run, a parade on Lake Drive, <br />Magic Bounce inflatables, a Commerce and Crafts Business Expo, Polynesian singer, bingo, <br />kiddie carnival, petting zoo, dance studio singers and dance presentation, yoga, family movie <br />night, Police Department Open House /Blood Drive, Centennial Fire Open House, YMCA Splash <br />and Dash, tent dance, Waldoch Farm garden tour, and Lino Lakes Ambassadors' coronation; and <br />WHEREAS, the Quad Area Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring many festival events and has <br />submitted an application for a special event and parade permit in conjunction with all the events; <br />WHEREAS, the Rotary Club is sponsoring a 5K Run on Saturday, August 18 and has submitted <br />an application for a run permit; and <br />WHEREAS, said permit applications were reviewed for compliance with the City of Lino Lakes <br />Code of Ordinances and for safety considerations by city administration, police, fire and public <br />works divisions; and <br />WHEREAS, Anoka County has approved a special roadway use permit to allow for parade <br />activities on Lake Drive on August 18, 2012 between the hours of 10:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m.; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by The City Council of The City of Lino Lakes, <br />Minnesota: <br />That the City Council hereby approves the special event, parade /run and excluded bingo <br />applications for the 2012 Blue Heron Days festival subject to ongoing efforts to ensure proper <br />safety, signage and related issues. <br />Adopted by the Council of the City of Lino Lakes this 23rd day of July, 2012. <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was introduced by Council Member <br />and was duly seconded by Council Member and upon vote being <br />taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: <br />The following voted against same: <br />ATTEST: <br />Julianne Bartell, City Clerk <br />Jeff Reinert, Mayor <br />• <br />
