• Recommendations of the Lino Lakes Environmental Board October 24th, 2012 Bill's Superette The following recommendations were made by the Lino Lakes Environmental Board concerning the Bill's Superette project on Lake Drive and Main Street: • In the Landscape Plan change the Sugar maples and Lindens to a species more adapted to droughty soils. Recommendations for substitution species include, but are not limited to Oaks, hackberry, disease resistant American elms such as Princeton, Heritage, Accolade or New Horizon, and Red maple. • Find a lower growing plant to substitute for the Alpine current in the parking lot island. Plants should not exceed 22 inches. • Move trees inside Great River Energy power line easement out to at least 35 feet. Otherwise obtain an encroachment agreement with Great River Energy. • Demonstrate how future buffer requirements will be addressed in the "phantom" parking lot areas should the parking spaces be used. • CPTED review must be submitted. • All sod areas must be irrigated. • Developer showed - interest in changing the top vegetation to a native fescue instead of recommended Blue Gramma. The County is planting native Blue Grama on the top side of their pond. Staff recommended similar material; however, native fescue would work. • Tree preservation measures must be shown for adjacent property trees that have dripline within the project limits. The tree preservation plan should also have tree identity numbers depicted on the tree preservation map. • SWPPP notes, on the construction details must include the name and phone number of the person responsible on site for SWPPP implementation. The phone number must be a 24 hr accessible number. The plan must show the location on site of the SWPPP plan, and all required inspection sheets.
