MEETING DATE: June 13, 2005 <br />TOPIC: Second Reading, Ordinance 02 -05 <br />Amending Liquor Code to Allow <br />For 2 a.m. Closing Time for On -Sale Liquor <br />Establishments <br />VOTE: 3/5 <br />BACKGROUND <br />At the April 20, 2005 Council Work Session, the City Council considered changing the <br />Lino Lakes City Code, Section 700 — Liquor to allow for on -sale liquor sales until 2 a.m. <br />At the May 23, 2005 City Council Meeting, the City Council conducted a public hearing <br />to consider First Reading of Ordinance No. 02 -05, which provides for a 2 a.m. closing <br />time for on -sale liquor establishments. The Council unanimously approved First Reading <br />of Ordinance No. 02 -05. <br />Ordinance 02 -05 provides for a 2 a.m. closing time. Final approval of the ordinance <br />allows on -sale establishments to apply for a license to remain open until 2 a.m., and the <br />ordinance would take effect 30 days after publication. <br />OPTIONS <br />1. Approve 2nd reading of Ordinance No. 02 -05. <br />2. Return to staff with direction. <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />Option 1 <br />
