Each property with a residence may have one freestanding sign. temporary <br />or permanent, without a permit: maximum size 6 sq ft, at least 10° from <br />property line This sign shall not advertise commercial activity that is not <br />allowed or conducted on same property as sign. There is no time limit for <br />such a sign. <br />SECTION IV. GENERAL REGULATIONS APPLICABLE TO ALL DISTRICTS <br />A. Advertising signs in districts where permitted, must comply with the following: <br />1. Shall only be fabricated of and erected on steel and built to a minimum of <br />thirty (30) pounds per square foot windload factor. <br />7 <br />Shall not be longer than sixty (60) feet. <br />3. Shall have a maximum square footage restriction of seven hundred fifty <br />(750) square feet. <br />B. All signs shall be constructed in conformance with the provisions of the Uniform <br />Sign Code published by the International Conference of Building Officials, which <br />is hereby adopted by reference and made a part of this Ordinance. <br />C. No sign shall be permitted within public road right -of -way or be affixed to public <br />structures or public utility poles or boxes or other public equipment except for <br />traffic control signs, public utility signs. or signs for public parks, governmental <br />buildings, or other such public facilities. <br />A special exception may be granted by the City Council if road improvements or <br />other public projects includes the elimination of an access to a private property. In <br />such cases, a sign giving directions to the new access may be allowed in the right of <br />way. <br />D. No sign shall be painted on, attached to, or affixed to any trees, rocks or other <br />similar organic or inorganic natural matter. <br />E. e - balloons, stringers are prohibite <br />pe b-l-e--s-ign permit. Signs in windows in the interior of buildings are allowed <br />without permits except that flashing signs are not allowed.
