• <br />• <br />• <br />CITY OF LINO LAKES <br />RESOLUTION NO. 05 -180 <br />A RESOLUTION EXTENDING THE EXISTING JOINT POWERS AGREEMENT <br />BETWEEN THE COMMUNITIES OF THE VADNAIS LAKE AREA WATER <br />MANAGEMENT ORGANIZATION UNTIL JANUARY 1, 2007 <br />WHEREAS, VLAWMO was organized in 1983 to be the responsible governmental unit to <br />provide oversight and management to see that the requirements of the <br />Metropolitan Water Management Act were enforced in the Vadnais Lake <br />Watershed area; and <br />WHEREAS, the existing Joint Powers Agreement will expire on January 1, 2006; and <br />WHEREAS, the City of Lino Lakes acknowledges that there are area of VLAWMO's <br />authority that need to be improved and potential changes to the Joint <br />Powers Agreement considered during 2006; and <br />WHEREAS, the extension of the Joint Powers for an additional year will provide <br />adequate time to accomplish those organizational changes and <br />improvements, <br />NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of Lino Lakes recommends <br />that the Point Powers Agreement between member communities be extended for a period <br />of one year, until January 1, 2007; and that work on updating the VLAWMO Water <br />Management Plan begin immediately. <br />The foregoing Resolution was offered by and was supported by <br />and was declared adopted based upon the following vote: <br />VOTE <br />ATTEST <br />, the duly qualified of <br />, do hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution is a true and <br />accurate representation of action taken by the City Council of the City of Lino Lakes on <br />the date first written. <br />Position: <br />Jean Viger, Deputy City Clerk <br />Date <br />John J.
