WS — Item 6 <br />WORK SESSION STAFF REPORT <br />Work Session Item 6 <br />Date: 7 February 2011 <br />To: Mayor Reinert and City Council <br />From: Dan Tesch, Director of Administration <br />Re: Public Safety Director Search <br />Background <br />The City received 23 applications for the position of Public Safety Director. After <br />evaluating the applications, the Search Committee narrowed that number down to 8 semi- <br />finalists. The Committee held first interviews on the evenings of 28 and 31 January. The <br />Committee would like to recommend 4 finalists to the full council for a second interview <br />at a date to be determined this evening if possible. <br />After the second interview, the council will select 2 finalists which will be referred on to <br />the next step which will be psychological testing and in basket exercises. <br />The council will make an offer to an applicant based on their interview and test results. <br />Requested Council Direction <br />Check your calendars for a date for a second interview of finalists for the Public Safety <br />Director position. Applications will be provided prior to the interview. <br />Attachment(s) <br />
