Council Member introduced the following resolution and moved its <br />adoption: <br />CITY OF LINO LAKES <br />RESOLUTION NO. 11 -16 <br />ACCEPTING MINNESOTA DEPARTMENT OF NATURAL RESOURCES 2010 TO <br />2012 COMMUNITY FOREST BONDING GRANT AWARD <br />WHEREAS, the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources is offering a Community <br />Forest Bonding Grant to communities to establish a more establish a more diverse and <br />resilient community forest; and <br />WHEREAS, the Emerald Ash Borer established in the State of Minnesota will eventually <br />arrive in the City of Lino Lakes, and <br />WHEREAS, the opportunity to mitigate some of the Ash mortality in Lino lakes is <br />afforded by planting a variety of trees to replace ash trees in Lino Lakes Parks and <br />streetscapes, and <br />WHEREAS, the Minnesota DNR Community Forest Bonding Grant provides 100% <br />funding for the purchase of trees, and <br />WHEREAS, The City of Lino Lakes was awarded $25,000 to purchase and plant more <br />diversity in several parks and two neighborhood street scapes; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />LINO LAKES, MINNESOTA: <br />That the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources 2010 to 2012 Community Forest <br />Bonding Grant is accepted, and hereby authorizes the Mayor and Clerk to execute the <br />agreement on behalf of the City. <br />Jeff Reinert, Mayor <br />Julianne Bartell, City Clerk <br />Adopted by the Lino Lakes City Council 14th day of February, 2011. <br />P84 <br />• <br />• <br />
