Springsted <br />City of Lino Lakes, Minnesota <br />City Council and Department Head Work Sessions <br />May 16 -17, 2011 (Two — 3 hour sessions) <br />Draft Agenda — For Discussion Purposes <br />Opening and Introductions <br />Around the room introductions along with opening comments from the Mayor highlighting the <br />importance and value of the agenda and discussion. <br />Perspective <br />Facilitator Dave Unmacht opens the first meeting with an interactive presentation and discussion <br />on the challenges of leadership in local government. <br />Setting the Stage <br />Interactive discussion with the participants about the state of the City. This conversation reflects <br />on the strengths, needs and opportunities faced by the City. <br />Factors <br />Facilitator leads a discussion with the participants on the internal and external factors that are <br />influencing and shaping the City today and in the future. <br />Reflection and the Future <br />A look back at the 2009 goals and an interactive discussion identifying the immediate and long <br />term goals and priorities of the City. <br />Developing the Ideas <br />Taking one step further to begin to identify strategies and ideas on how to address and move <br />forward on the major goals and priorities. <br />Immersion <br />This session discusses how the results and follow -up from the two work sessions will be used <br />and ultimately immersed in the City's future plans and actions. <br />Closing <br />Around the room to summarize the session and receive closing comments from each participant. <br />Page 1 of 1 <br />• <br />• <br />• <br />
