•
P39
Environmental
Memo
To: Jeff Smyser
From: Marty Asleson
Date: July 28, 2011
Re: Environmental Board Recommendations from the July 27, 2011 Meeting
Concerning the Oppidan Site Concept Plan Review
• The following recommendations were made last night by the Lino Lakes
Environmental Board in their review of the Oppidan site, sketch /concept plan:
• A more detailed landscape plan is needed, particularly in relationship to the
west side berm. Developer should know that the berm will need to be
irrigated. A five year maintenance and plant replacement plan should be
approved by the city.
• Any infiltration practices need to be evaluated in terms of impacts that may
occur to adjacent residents
• Use soil amendments /tilling to help fulfill the 0.5 inch impervious rainfall
event requirements.
• Use curbing on the site that is not a barrier to turtles.
• Incorporate welcoming, inviting, architecture and landscape elements to
create a pleasing (warmth and fuzziness) place to shop.
• Incorporate LEED design into the site as much as possible /feasible.
• A detailed Lighting Plan is needed. Lights must conform to minimum
standards.
•
