AGENDA ITEM 3B <br />• <br />STAFF ORIGINATOR: Jeff Karlson, City Administrator <br />MEETING DATE: September 12, 2011 <br />TOPIC: Employee Severance Package <br />VOTE REQUIRED: 3/5 <br />BACKGROUND <br />As a result of the organizational assessment that was conducted earlier this year, the <br />City Council will be considering the elimination of two staff positions. At the <br />September 26 meeting, the Council will be asked to make a formal decision regarding <br />this recommendation. <br />At the September 6 work session, the Council agreed that employees affected by the <br />position reductions should be given 12 weeks' severance pay to help them in their <br />transition to future employment. <br />• <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />Adopt Resolution 2011 -88, authorizing an employee severance package of 12 weeks. <br />• <br />P32 <br />
