Council Member introduced the following resolution and moved its <br />adoption: <br />CITY OF LINO LAKES <br />COUNTY OF ANOKA <br />RESOLUTION NO. 11 -109 <br />DENYING A ZONING ORDINANCE AMENDMENT TO ADD ACCESSORY OUTDOOR <br />STORAGE AS AN INTERIM USE IN THE LIGHT INDUSTRIAL ZONING DISTRICT <br />WHEREAS, the City has received an application for a Zoning Amendment to add <br />Accessory Outdoor Storage as an Interim Use in the Light Industrial zoning district; and <br />WHEREAS, Section 2, Subdivision 1 of the zoning ordinance allows for such an <br />application, and <br />WHEREAS, the City Council makes the following five FINDINGS, pursuant to Section 2, <br />Subdivision 1 of the zoning ordinance: <br />1. The proposed action has been considered in relation to the specific <br />policies and provisions of and has been found to be consistent with the <br />official City Comprehensive Plan. <br />The proposed amendment would be inconsistent with Goal 2 and its <br />associated policies from the 2030 Comprehensive Plan. <br />Goal 2: Ensure that zoning and subdivision ordinances and official <br />maps are consistent with the intent and specific direction provided <br />within the Comprehensive Plan. <br />Policies: <br />1. Ensure developers meet the standards specified within the land -use <br />plan and official controls, including zoning and subdivision <br />ordinances and official maps. <br />2. Coordinate the plans for housing with plans for light industrial and <br />commercial businesses to balance land uses, serve the quality of life <br />needs of the residential areas, foster a positive business climate for <br />light industrial and commercial business, and expand and balance <br />the community's tax base. <br />3. Ensure compatibility of adjacent land uses. <br />2. The proposed use is or will be compatible with present and future and uses <br />of the area. <br />The very reason why the CUP for outdoor storage excludes properties <br />like 7301 Apollo Court is to maintain compatibility with the present and <br />future land uses of the area.
