With council direction to allow this use and after conferring with the city attorney, the
plan is to allow for an interim use process while staff reviews the city's industrial park zoning
regulations for consideration of making more permanent changes. If the ordinance is approved (first
and second reading), an application for an interim use permit could be submitted. That process would
be much like that for a conditional use permit with area notification and a public hearing before the
Planning and Zoning Board and final consideration by the council. Conditions would be an inherent
part of that process. When a council member asked if this would be a dual process that allows the
use only until further review, Mr. Grochala explained that staff sees that they will be reviewing the
zoning regulations overall for this type of use and that may or may not impact the ability of the
applicant to maintain the use or may cause for additional requirements, depending upon the findings
of that review.
Council Member Rafferty moved to approve the first reading of Ordinance No. 21 -11 as presented.
Council Member Roeser seconded the motion. Motion carried on a unanimous voice vote.
UNFINISHED BUSINESS
There was no Unfinished Business.
NEW BUSINESS
There was no New Business.
COMMUNITY CALENDAR
Community Calendar — A Look Ahead
November 15, 2011 through November 28, 2011
4 Monday, November 28 5:30 pm, Community Room Council Work Session
Monday, November 28 6:30 pm, Council Chambers City Council Meeting
November 24 and 25 City Hall closed Thanksgiving Holiday
ADJOURN
There being no further business, Council Member Rafferty moved to adjourn at 7:00 p.m. Council
Member O'Donnell seconded the motion.
