At the <br />September 3, 2013 Council Work Session, staff reviewed the City’s ordinance on <br />accessory buildings. The Council directed staff to also review the ordinance with the <br />Planning & Zoning Board at their October 9, 2013 meeting. <br /> <br />Current City Ordinance <br /> <br />Chapter 1007, Section 1, Subd. 2.B. of the zoning ordinance defines the following: <br /> <br />Accessory Building. A portion of the principal building or a detached structu re <br />on the same lot which is used for an accessory use. <br /> <br />Accessory Use. A use of land or of a building or portion thereof customarily <br />incidental and subordinate to the principal use of the land or building and located <br />on the same lot with such principal us e. <br /> <br />Detached Garage. A one -story accessory building used or intended for the <br />storage of motor driven passenger vehicles. <br /> <br />Garage. A deck building or structure, or part thereof, used or intended to be used <br />for the parking and storage of vehicles. <br /> <br />Tool Sh ed. A small one -story accessory building used or intended for the storage <br />of hobby tools and garden equipment. <br /> <br />Per Chapter 1007, Section 3, Subd. 4: <br /> <br />D.
