COUNCIL MINUTES <br />DRAFT <br />P. 17b <br />Novemer 28, 2011 <br />1 CITY OF LINO LAKES <br />2 MINUTES <br />3 <br />4 <br />5 DATE : November 28, 2011 <br />6 TIME STARTED : 6:30 p.m. <br />7 TIME ENDED : 6:55 p.m. <br />8 MEMBERS PRESENT : Council Member Gallup, O'Donnell, Rafferty, <br />9 Roeser, and Mayor Reinert <br />10 MEMBERS ABSENT : None <br />11 <br />12 Staff members present: City Administrator Jeff Karlson; Director of Public Safety John Swenson; <br />13 Community Development Director Michael Grochala; City Engineer Jason Wedel; Director of <br />14 Finance Al Rolek; and City Clerk Julie Bartell <br />15 <br />16 PUBLIC COMMENT <br />17 <br />18 John DeHaven, 1612 Birch Street, asked the council to consider merging services with other cities to <br />19 save money by reducing the number of employees required to do the city's work. The Mayor noted <br />20 that officials from several cities in the area have been meeting regularly to discuss consolidation <br />21 possibilities; the council will continue those discussions and continue to look for cost saving options. <br />22 <br />23 The Mayor added that the council welcomes businesses in the city to come forward and introduce <br />24 themselves during open mike. He extends that invitation to business representatives throughout the <br />25 city. <br />26 <br />27 SETTING THE AGENDA <br />28 <br />29 The agenda was approved as presented. <br />30 <br />31 CONSENT AGENDA <br />32 <br />33 Council Member Gallup moved to approve the Consent Agenda, Items lA through 1H. Council <br />34 Member O'Donnell seconded the motion.
