CITY OF LINO LAKES <br />RESOLUTION NO. 26-45 <br />AUTHORIZING THE 2026 REGIONAL SOLICITATION GRANT APPLICATION SUBMITTAL <br />FOR A MULTIUSE TRAIL ALONG MAIN STREET (CSAH 14) BETWEEN LINO LAKES ELEMENTARY <br />SCHOOL AND THE 1-35W OVERPASS <br />WHEREAS, the Transportation Advisory Board (TAB) is soliciting project applications for <br />federal funding through the Regional Solicitation process; and <br />WHEREAS, funding requests are for the federal fiscal years 2030 and 2031; and <br />WHEREAS, funding provides up to 100 percent of project construction costs; and <br />WHEREAS, bicycle and pedestrian facilities that benefit the regional bikeway system are <br />eligible projects for the funding request; and <br />WHEREAS, Main Street (CSAH 14) is identified as a Tier 2 alignment in the Regional <br />Bicycle Transportation Network (RBTN); and <br />WHEREAS, there is a gap in the multiuse trail network along Main Street (CSAH 14) <br />between Lino Lakes Elementary School and the 1-35W overpass; and <br />WHEREAS, the proposed multiuse trail would close this gap in the Central Anoka County <br />Regional Trail system and improve access to local and regional destinations, including Lino <br />Lakes Elementary School, Rice Creek Regional Park Reserve, and the Lino Lakes Public Works <br />facility. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Lino Lakes that <br />staff is hereby authorized to submit a 2026 Regional Solicitation grant application for a multiuse <br />trail along Main Street (CSAH 14) between Lino Lakes Elementary School and the 1-35W <br />overpass. <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City of Lino Lakes commits to providing snow and ice <br />control to support year-round bicycle and pedestrian use of this facility should funding be <br />awarded and the project constructed. <br />Adopted by the City Council of the City of Lino Lakes this 1311 day of April, 2026. <br />R fferty, Mayor <br />
