STAFF ORIGINATOR: <br />AGENDA ITEM 7B <br />Michael Grochala <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />MEETING DATE: January 14, 2002 <br />TOPIC: Consideration of Resolution 02 -03 Establishing <br />Development Regulations Task Force <br />BACKGROUND: <br />As previously discussed, staff is proposing to establish a Task Force with the <br />purpose of reviewing ordinance modifications necessary to implement the <br />Comprehensive Plan. The proposed Task Force would be comprised of one City <br />Council member, who would serve as the Chairperson, and two members from <br />each of the following boards /committee: <br />• 1. Economic Development Advisory Committee <br />2. Environmental Board <br />3. Planning and Zoning Board <br />The Park Board, while not represented on the Task Force, would serve as a <br />resource in matters that pertain to park, trail, and greenway development. <br />Staff has also created by -laws that would govern the activities of the Task Force. <br />The by -laws establish the following: <br />1. Name of Task Force <br />2. Purpose and Policy <br />3. Structure and Organization <br />4. Officers <br />5. Meetings <br />6. Sunset Date <br />Staff is recommending establishment of the Task Force and adoption of the <br />proposed by -laws in an effort to insure the timely completion of the ordinance <br />review process. <br />• <br />
