4
•
•
AGENDA ITEM 4A
STAFF MEMBER Daniel Tesch, Director of Administration
DATE 28 January 2002
SUBJECT Building Inspector
VOTE REQUIRED 3/5
BACKGROUND
The 2002 Annual Operating Budget calls for the addition of a full -time building inspector.
Late last year, the city advertised and received a number of applications. After having reviewed
the applications, 4 individuals were asked to a first interview. Those interviews took place week of
14 January, and were conducted by Linda Waite Smith, City Administrator and Carrie Villella,
Building Department Secretary.
(Second interviews are scheduled for tomorrow (24 January), and will be conducted by
myself and Michael Grochala, Community Development Director. We anticipate being able to
decide on a finalist, do background checks and have the council authorize the hiring of one of our
two finalists on Monday evening.)
Therefore, we would recommend the council make an offer of employment to
OPTIONS
1. Make an offer of employment to
2. Go back through the hiring process.
RECOMMENDATION
One.
