Blair, City Clerk
February 11, 2002
Consider Request from Lino Lakes Lion's Club for
a one -day temporary consumption and display
permit (set -up license)
Simple Majority (3/5)
Non - profit organizations are allowed, under the State Gambling Statutes, to apply for a
one -day temporary license in connection with a social activity occurring within the city
and sponsored by the organization. The City may not issue more than 10 such licenses in
any one -year period. This is the first request the City has received in 2002.
The Lino Lakes Lion's Club has requested a temporary set -up license for an event to be
held on February 23, 2002 at St. Joseph's Church. The fee for such a license is $25.00,
which is set by the State. If granted, the permit will allow consumption or display of
intoxicating liquor, but does not allow the sale of intoxicating liquor.
Approval of this item is recommended, contingent upon completion of the background
investigation. Resolution No. 02 -16 approves the requested temporary license.
Options
1. Motion to Approve Resolution No. 02 -16.
2.
