• • CITY OF LINO LAKES RESOLUTION NO. 02 -103 RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE COUNTY OF ANOKA'S DESIGN FOR RECONSTRUCTION OF CSAH 49 WHEREAS, County State Aid Highway 49, between Lake Drive (CSAH 23) and County Road J, is located in the City of Lino Lakes and the County of Anoka, and WHEREAS, Anoka County plans to reconstruct the CSAH 49 bridge over Rice Creek, and the intersection of Lake Drive and CSAH 49, and WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of the City and the County to reconstruct CSAH 49 from Lake Drive to County Road J at the same time the bridge and intersection are reconstructed, and WHEREAS, the City and County have discussed design issues for reconstruction of CSAH 49 for two years, and WHEREAS, Anoka County has proposed to construct the project in accordance with the following: a. Remove the shoulder to narrow the overall street width; b. Reduce the Right -of -way width to 100 feet; c. Remove the median south of Birch Street if the speed limit can be reduced through implementation of landscaping and streetscaping; and WHEREAS, the design will include context sensitive design elements that contribute to lower speed limits NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LINO LAKES, MINNESOTA: 1. The City of Lino Lakes accepts Anoka County's design for reconstructing CSAH 49. 2. The City of Lino Lakes is prepared to participate financially in providing context sensitive design elements of the reconstructed roadway. 3. The City of Lino Lakes urges Anoka County to include plans to reconstruct CSAH II 49, the bridge over Rice Creek and the intersection of Lake Drive and CSAH 49 in the 2003 -2008 Highway Improvement Plan.
