• AGENDA ITEM 7F <br />STAFF ORIGINATOR: Michael Grochala <br />DATE: 9 /9/02 <br />TOPIC: Consideration of Resolution No. 02 -114 Approving <br />the Classification of Tax Forfeit Properties with notice <br />to obtain the properties <br />VOTE REQUIRED: Simple majority <br />BACKGROUND: <br />Two parcels of property in Lino Lakes have forfeited to the State of Minnesota <br />because of delinquent property taxes. If the parcels are not repurchased within <br />six months, the City can choose to obtain title to them for public use. <br />The Anoka County Land Commissioner, Gene Rafferty, has asked the City <br />Council to approve the classification of the parcels. Outlot A, School Subdivision <br />(see map) can be used as a future buffer between commercial uses and <br />residences, as well as a buffer for nearby wetlands. Tract E, Reg. Land Survey <br />No. 112 (see map) is within a drainage ditch. Staff is recommending the city <br />obtain both parcels. <br />OPTIONS: <br />1. Adopt Resolution No. 02 -114 Approving Tax the Classification of Tax Forfeit <br />Properties with notice to obtain the properties. <br />2. Do not adopt the resolution, allowing the parcels to be purchased at public <br />auction when the repurchase period expires. <br />3.
