•
Interoffice Memo
Date: 11/02/99
To Brian Wessel
From: Marty Asleson
RE Environmental Board Recommendation on Oak Brook Easement
The Environmental Board passed the following recommendation after considering the issues on the
Oak Brook Peninsula Drainage easement that is under consideration for vacation. The Environmental
Board was asked to look at this easement vacation from the perspective of Greenway applicability.
The possibility of a future trail extending through approximately 600 feet of cattails and through a
residential lot is a possibility although recognized by the Environmental Board as in all probability very
expensive, and that this cost factor would need to be addressed at that time.
Keep in mind that the Environmental Board was looking at a drainage easement in this case. In
reference to the 77th street easement vacation, the Environmental Board was given a very early look
at the project back in May or June of this year. At that time, it was discussed that the road could very
possibly be shifted away from any tree impact areas. This issue was never brought back to the
Environmental Board after this first "quick look and comment " review.
MA/MA
•
