City is currently using Anoka County's ordinance. Staff will be asking council to
reconsider adopting a city ordinance. Also, implementation of either ordinance will
require a significant investment of staff time to follow up with 180 property owners
who have not responded to notices to have their systems pumped.
2. City has encouraged native plantings. Now there is a need to develop effective
guidelines for maintaining native plantings and a plan to coordinate public and private
efforts to establish native plantings.
3. Research on how to accomplish preservation development is ongoing. Additional
funds will support development of a project review process and incorporation of that
process into existing city ordinances.
