CITY OF LINO LAKES <br />RESOLUTION NO.26-84 <br />ESTABLISHING ABSENTEE VOTING LOCATIONS FOR THE CITY OF LINO LAKES <br />WHEREAS, the City is to establish the responsible authority and location for absentee voting for the <br />2026 State Primary and General Election, and future elections until this resolution is superseded, and <br />WHEREAS, with the 2026 Legislative Session, Minnesota Statutes, Section 203B.05, subdivision 1, <br />was amended to require the city to designate if the city would administer voting under section 203B.081 starting <br />on the 46th day before the election or the 18th day before the election, and <br />WHEREAS, the State of Minnesota provides for Absentee Voting for 46 days before the election and <br />Early Voting 18 days before the election. With Early Voting being the time when the tabulator is set-up and <br />voters may cast their ballot directly. Prior to 18 days, voters are required to use an envelope to return the ballot, <br />with the option to return the ballot using an envelope continuing through the Absentee Voting period, and <br />WHEREAS, with this recent change in state law, cities are reviewing the voting designations, and <br />WHEREAS, the City designated Anoka County and the City to administer Absentee Voting per <br />Resolution 25-169, prior to this law change, and <br />WHEREAS, with this change in state law, it is recommended that Anoka County be designated to <br />administer Absentee Voting which would include the full 46 days, and the City of Lino Lakes be designated to <br />administer voting the 18 days prior to the Election, which is the Early Voting period. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that absentee voting shall be administered by Anoka <br />County at the Anoka County Government Center, located at 2100 Third Avenue, Anoka, MN 55303, for the <br />2026 State Primary and General Election and future elections, beginning 46 days before the election. The City <br />of Lino Lakes shall administer an Absentee Ballot Board and voting at City Hall, located at 600 Town Center <br />Parkway, Lino Lakes, MN 55014, for the 18 days prior to the 2026 State Primary and General Election and <br />future elections until this resolution is superseded. <br />Adopted by the City Council of the City of Lino Lakes this 26"' day of May, 2026. <br />+. r--,^ , 1 <br />Ro R erty, Mayor <br />Attest <br />/ (: _': �; � <br />Roberta Colotti, CMC <br />City Clerk <br />
