PARK BOARD
STAFF REPORT
AGENDA ITEM 7.A.

STAFF ORIGINATOR: Rick DeGardner, Public Services Director

MEETING DATE April 28, 2026

AGENDA ITEM: CLLL Request for Sunrise Park Expansion

INTRODUCTION
Mr. Pat Mahr, President of Centennial Lakes Little League (CLLL) attended the March 4 Park
Board meeting to present a proposal to create the addition of a ballfield located in the
southeast corner of Sunrise Park.

BACKGROUND
The proposal (see attached) was subsequently submitted and reviewed by city staff. During the
review process, I was made aware that the City has planned for a proposed 2027-2028 Street
Reconstruction Project in the Sunrise Park area. As part of the project, the stormwater
management will utilize in part the southwest portion of Sunrise Park. This is the same location
where the additional ballfield is proposed. Assuming plans for the street reconstruction remain,
the open area at Sunrise Park will not be available for an additional ball field.

RECOMMENDATION / REQUESTED DIRECTION
For informational purposes only.

ATTACHMENTS
1.
