•
•
•
AGENDA ITEM 5G
STAFF ORIGINATOR: John Powell, City Engineer
COUNCIL MEETING DATE: March 13, 2000
TOPIC: Resolution No. 00 - , Consideration of Petition for Public
Improvements in the Bluebill Ponds Area.
VOTE REQUIRED: Simple Majority
BACKGROUND:
The City has received a petition from the owners of the property shown on the
attached sketch. This is the property included in the preliminary plat for Bluebill
Ponds. The petition requests sanitary sewer, water, street, and drainage
improvements.
The location of the entrance to this subdivision has not yet been resolved. The
developer and House of Praise church have not yet reached agreement on the
purchase of the property across from Wood Duck Trail on the south side of Main
Street. As you may recall, it is City staff's strong recommendation that the
entrance to this subdivision be located directly across from Wood Duck Trail. If
this issue is not resolved, and the City proceeds with the Public Improvement
process, it is very likely we would need to condemn the church property in order
to construct the requested improvements.
It is City Staff's recommendation this petition be denied as premature.
OPTIONS:
1. Return to staff for further review.
2. Adopt Resolution No. 00- , Denying the Petition for Public Improvements in
the Bluebill Ponds Area.
RECOMMENDATION:
Option No. 2 - Staff recommends that Resolution No. 00- be adopted.
