f <br />• <br />• <br />• <br />AGENDA ITEM 1D <br />STAFF ORIGINATOR: Linda Waite Smith, City Administrator <br />MEETING DATE: 3/13/00 <br />TOPIC: Resolution of Support for Continuation of Metropolitan <br />Bus Routes 271 and 213 in Lino Lakes <br />VOTE REQUIRED: 3/4 <br />BACKGROUND: <br />On February 28, 2000, the City Council adopted a motion directing the City <br />Administrator to send a letter to the Metropolitan Council objecting to proposed changes <br />in bus service provided to Lino Lakes residents. The letter was faxed to the Metropolitan <br />Council on February 29. <br />State Representative Ray Vandeveer has suggested that the City Council adopt a formal <br />resolution supporting continuation of bus routes 271 and 213 in the City of Lino Lakes. <br />That resolution has been prepared and is attached for consideration. With the City <br />Council's approval, it will be sent to specific Metropolitan Council Members per the <br />recommendation of Representative Vandeveer. <br />OPTIONS: <br />1. Adopt the resolution supporting continuation of bus routes 271 and 213. <br />2. Adopt the resolution with modifications. <br />3. Decline to adopt the resolution. <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />1. Adopt the resolution and direct the City Administrator to send a copy to <br />Metropolitan Council members and Representative Ray Vandeveer. <br />
