• <br />• <br />• <br />CONSENT AGENDA <br />STAFF ORIGINATOR: Ry -Chel Gaustad, CMC City Clerk <br />MEETING DATE: June 12, 2000 <br />TOPIC: Proposed Block Party <br />VOTE REQUIRED: Simple Majority (3/5 Vote) <br />BACKGROUND: <br />A block party is planned on the Arthur Court cul -de -sac starting at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, <br />June 10, and ending at 10:00 p.m. This is the annual neighborhood block party. <br />The attached map shows the location of the party. Also, find a list that shows the <br />property owners who have signed the petition acknowledging they were notified about <br />the party. <br />The Police Department, Fire Department and the Public Works Department have been <br />informed about the party. The Public Works Department plans to provide barricades to <br />redirect traffic. The Police Officer assigned to this precinct may visit the party. The Fire <br />Department may provide a fire truck tour. <br />In the past, the City Council has encouraged block parties as it presents an opportunity <br />for creating community and to create a setting to form a neighborhood crime watch unit. <br />OPTIONS: <br />1. Approve the Block Party Application <br />2. Deny the Block Party Application <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Option No. 1 <br />
