As <br />part of the department's CSO program, we look for college students who are attending <br />school to become a full time police officer. Mike Monson fits this criterion. Mike is <br />attending Century College where he is currently in the Law Enforcement program. <br />On May 27, 2000, the department experienced the untimely death of police office Steve <br />Bikkie. At this time staff is requesting that City Council approve a conditional job offer <br />to Mike Monson based on successful completion of law enforcement skills course, post <br />licensure, background check, medical and psychological exam. The anticipated start date <br />for this request is October 23, 2000. <br />OPTIONS: <br />1. Approve recommendation <br />2. Return to staff for further review. <br />RECOMMENDATIONS: <br />1.
