• <br />• <br />• <br />CONSENT AGENDA ITEM 1D <br />STAFF ORIGINATOR: Ry -Chel Gaustad, CMC City Clerk <br />MEETING DATE: July 10, 2000 <br />TOPIC: Consider Block Party <br />VOTE REQUIRED: Simple Majority (3/5 Vote) <br />BACKGROUND: <br />A block party is planned at 1385 Hunters Ridge a through street at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, <br />July 15, ending at 10:00 p.m. <br />The attached map shows the location of the party. Also, find a list that shows the <br />property owners who have signed the petition acknowledging they were notified about <br />the party. Please note two property owners did not sign the petition, however the <br />applicant received their signatures after their return from vacation. <br />The Police Department, Fire Department and Public Works Department have been <br />informed about the party. The Fire Department will be visiting the block party at their <br />request. The Public Works Department is not in favor of barricading a through road <br />because of limited traffic circulation. The Police Department supports the party for the <br />opportunity to create community and to create a setting to form a neighborhood crime <br />unit. <br />In the past, the City Council has approved this applicant for a block party at this location. <br />OPTIONS: <br />1. Approve the block party application <br />2. Deny the block party application <br />3. Return to staff for further research <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Staff recommends option no. 1 <br />
