CONSENT AGENDA ITEM 1D <br />STAFF ORIGINATOR: Ry -Chel Gaustad, CMC City Clerk <br />MEETING DATE: August 28, 2000 <br />TOPIC: Consider Block Party <br />VOTE REQUIRED: Simple Majority (3/5 Vote) <br />BACKGROUND: <br />A block party is planned at 6345 Red Hawk Trail, a cul -de -sac on Friday, September 8, <br />2000 beginning at 5:00 p.m., and ending at 10:00 p.m. <br />The attached map shows the location of the party. Also, find a list that shows the <br />property owners who have signed the petition acknowledging they were notified about <br />the party. <br />The Police Department, Fire Department and Public Works Department have been <br />informed about the party. The Fire Department may visit the block party. The Public <br />Works Department doesn't have any concerns or problems. The Police Department <br />supports the party for the opportunity to create community and to create a setting to form <br />a neighborhood crime unit. <br />In the past, the City Council has approved this applicant for a block party at this location. <br />OPTIONS: <br />1. Approve the block party application <br />2. Deny the block party application <br />3. Return to staff for further research <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Staff recommends option no. 1 <br />
