AGENDA ITEM 7K <br />STAFF ORIGINATOR: John Powell, City Engineer <br />COUNCIL MEETING DATE: August 28, 2000 <br />TOPIC: Resolution No. 00 -77, Order the Improvement and Preparation of Plans <br />and Specifications for Main Street Trunk Utilities <br />VOTE REQUIRED: 3/5 Vote Required <br />BACKGROUND: <br />After the Public Hearing for is held, the next step in the Public Improvement Process is <br />to order the improvement and preparation of the plans and specifications. This project <br />was initiated by a petition from the Bluebill Ponds subdivision which is the benefited <br />property proposed to be assessed. The petitioners have also waived 50 days of the 60 <br />day waiting period. Therefore, per Section 8.06 of the City Charter, the City Council <br />may immediately order the proposed project. The plans and specifications would be <br />received by the City Council at the October 9, 2000, meeting. Construction will take <br />place in the Spring of 2001. <br />OPTIONS: <br />1. Return to staff for further review. <br />2. Adopt Resolution No. 00 -77, order the improvement and preparation of plans and <br />specifications for the Main Street Trunk Utilities project. <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Option No. 2 - Adopt Resolution No. 00 -77, order the improvement and preparation of <br />plans and specifications for the Main Street Trunk Utilities project. <br />
