Planning & Zoning Board <br />May 14, 2008 <br />Page 2 <br />APPROVED MINUTES <br /> <br />Paul Bengtson, Associate Planner, presented the staff report. City Staff recommended <br />approval of the Preliminary and Final Plat with conditions as stated in the staff report. <br /> <br />Mr. Tralle opened the Public Hearing at 6:40 p.m. <br /> <br />Scott and Vicky Byrne, 1410 Canfield Road, st ated that they understand the process but <br />they have not had any direct contact with their neighbors about any grading concerns. <br /> <br />Jennifer and Layne McCleary, 2383 65 th St., live on the property to the west. Mrs. <br />McCleary had a brief conversation with the app licant’s surveyor about the possibility of <br />removing dirt from an island area between th e properties but never heard back about the <br />issue. The McClearys were c oncerned about what exactly wa s planned for that area as <br />they have an existing retaining wall that would be affected. The McClearys were happy <br />that the house has been demolished, but did not want to bear any additional expense to <br />realign their landscaping. <br /> <br />Mr. Studenski described the proposed adjust ments to the retaining wall and grading. <br /> <br />Board Members confirmed that the applican t and the McClearys understood the process <br />involved, and that the McClearys did not want to be burdened with a cost to change what <br />is on their property, and that everyone was in agreement. <br /> <br />Mr. Rafferty made a MOTION to close the Public Hearing at 6:52 p.m. Motion was <br />supported by Mr. Pogalz. Motion carried 6-0. <br /> <br />Mr. Rafferty made a MOTION to recommend approval of the Preliminary and Final Plat <br />for Byrne Langer Addition. <br /> <br />Motion was supported by Mr. Hyden. Motion carried 6 - 0. <br /> <br />VI. DISCUSSION ITEMS <br /> <br />A. Comp Plan Update <br /> <br />Mr. Grochala gave an update of the Compre hensive Plan Update process, as well as <br />transportation updates. <br /> <br />VII. ADJOURNMENT <br /> <br />Mr. Rafferty made a MOTION to adjourn th e meeting at 7:02 p.m. Motion was <br />supported by Mr. Laden.
