• <br />• <br />• <br />AGENDA ITEM: 3 A <br />STAFF ORIGINATOR: Daniel Tesch, Acting City Administrator <br />DATE: 13 November 20000 <br />TOPIC: Rice Creek Watershed Appointment <br />BACKGROUND <br />State Statute requires the Anoka County Board of Commissioners appoint commissioners <br />to a watershed district nominated jointly or severally by towns and municipalities from <br />within the district. To be eligible for appointment, the nominee must reside within the <br />watershed district boundaries, be eligible to vote in the district, and not be a public officer <br />of the county state or federal government (except that a soil and water conservation <br />supervisor can be appointed). <br />Mr. Andy Cardinal, a Lino Lakes resident, has represented Anoka County since 1972. <br />Mr. Cardinal has been responsive to the needs of Lino Lakes while simultaneously <br />observed sensitivity to the environment. <br />OPTIONS <br />1. Request Anoka County Reappoint Mr. Andy Cardinal to the Rice Creek Watershed <br />District. <br />2. Not take action on this item. <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />Number One <br />
