MEETING DATE: May 29, 2001 <br />TOPIC: SECOND READING: Ordinance 06 -01 <br />Amending City Code Regarding Park Dedication <br />Requirements <br />Resolution 01 -72 Approving Park Dedication Formulas and <br />Fees <br />VOTE REQUIRED: 4/5 for Ordinance 06 -01 <br />3/5 for Resolution 01 -72 <br />BACKGROUND <br />The City has conducted a study of park needs and land values to determine appropriate park <br />dedication requirements in Lino Lakes. Section 1001 of the City Code makes up the <br />requirements for the subdivision of land. Park dedication requirements are included in the <br />subdivision regulations, as authorized by state statute. <br />• The City Council approved the first reading of Ordinance 06 -01 at the May 14 meeting. The <br />Council had some questions about the actual formula and dollar amounts of the park dedication <br />requirements. The attached memo from Al Brixius and Deb Garros of NAC provides additional <br />information for the park dedication study and explains how the calculations will work. <br />The attached Ordinance 06 -01 amends the City's park dedication requirements. Subdivision 11 <br />lays out the basic formula for the calculations. <br />The attached resolution lists the actual dollar amounts for park dedication calculations. We can <br />adopt the attached resolution and then change the fee schedule accordingly at a future City <br />Council meeting. The new charges would take effect on the effective date of Ordinance 06 -01. <br />This is anticipated to be July 5, 2001. <br />OPTIONS <br />1.
