• <br />• <br />• <br />AGENDA ITEM 1B <br />STAFF ORIGNINATOR: Jean Viger, Deputy Clerk <br />MEETING DATE: June 25, 2001 <br />TOPIC: Consideration of a Non - Intoxicating Malt Liquor <br />License and Cabaret License for August Festival, <br />Saint Joseph Catholic Church <br />VOTE REQUIRED: Simple Majority (3/5 Vote) <br />BACKGROUND: <br />Saint Joseph Catholic Church is hosting its annual August Festival on Friday, August 11th <br />and Saturday, August 12th, 2001. As part of its celebration, beverages, including 3.2 <br />beer, will be served. The State of Minnesota requires that a separate 3.2 license be issued <br />for such an event. <br />As in the past, the Parish will hold a dance on Saturday evening, August 11th . Each year <br />a cabaret license is required for this event . The Church has confirmed security will be <br />managed as in previous years. <br />The Parish has made application to the City of Lino Lakes to acquire a cabaret license <br />and a 3.2 beer permit, has submitted a certificate of insurance for the dates of the event <br />and paid the proper fees. Please note there have been no reported problems with the <br />festival in the past. <br />OPTIONS: <br />1. Adopt a motion to approve 3.2 beer license and cabaret license. <br />2. Deny approval of 3.2 beer license and cabaret license. <br />3. Return to staff for further information <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Option No. 1 <br />
