The <br />results of the bid opening are presented below. City Council action is required to award <br />a construction contract to the lowest responsible bidder. <br />Contractor Amount of Bid <br />North Valley, Inc. <br />W.B. Miller, Inc. <br />$88,530.50 <br />$93,361.45 <br />Engineer's Estimate $99,176.50 <br />The low bid is approximately 11 % below the Engineer's Estimate for this project. A <br />copy of the complete bid tabulation is attached. <br />The funding for this work is provided by assessments to the respective subdivisions <br />included in the project. <br />OPTIONS: <br />1. Return to staff for further review. <br />2. Adopt Resolution Number 01 -125, accepting bids and awarding a construction <br />contract to North Valley, Inc. for the 2001 Bituminous Wearing Course project. <br />3. Not adopt Resolution No. 01 -125. <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Option No. 2 - Staff recommends adoption of Resolution Number 01 -125. <br />• <br />
