If the parcel is
not repurchased within six months, the city can choose to obtain title to it for
public use. Otherwise the parcel will be sold at a county auction.
This parcel is .77 acres on Lake Drive, just south of James Street. Staff has not
identified any specific need for this property for public use. Since it has future
potential for commercial development, staff is recommending that the city council
find that this parcel is not needed for a public use so that it can remain on the tax
rolls, and approve the classification and sale of this property.
OPTIONS:
1. Approve the classification and sale of the tax forfeited parcel
2. Obtain the parcel for public use after the repurchase period is over
2. Return to staff for further consideration
RECOMMENDATION:
Option 1
