Staff advertised the position and interviews were held August 20`h here at city hall. The
recommendation of City Administrator Linda Waite Smith and myself is to offer the position to
Ms. Ann Blair.
Ann has a law degree from the William Mitchell School of Law, and has done municipal
work with the firm of Kennedy and Graven. Ann is well versed in ordinance development and
application as well as state statutes that deal with data practices.
At the council's next work session on 19 September, the city administrator and myself will
present to the council our recommendation for some minor duty reassignments with regard to the
city clerk, deputy clerk and other secretarial support positions.
OPTIONS
1. Approve the hiring of Ann Blair as city clerk.
2. Deny the recommendation.
RECOMMENDATION
Number One.
